Relative to nothing

This is the second song I ever wrote.
Sunset from the ferry boat to Orcas Island

Waiting for the Ship

Come.
     Come, my lover.
     Come be with me.
       For your mind is tired.
       And your hands--worked hard.

The ocean breeze is healing.
The sun so warm.
It can warm your heart in places of unknown cold.

Come, my lover.
    Come right beside me.
    Sit.
    Be still.
 And beauty will reveal itself.

The bees are such a small price to pay
In exchange for the art and glory in the very air we breath.

For there is space here.
    Space for you.
    Space for me.
    Space for we.
Our essence to dance and swirl and have their being.

There is time yet
For the ship has not come in.

Come, enter the silence and feel its fullness.
The rocking of the tide
The hum of the bird.
For life is vibrant all around us and within us.
To be still, silent, and alive.

Moving us forward.

Come and be filled.

The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nZGv8VTBVE
Fear not the cracks in humanity.
The promise of time passing
                        growing old
                        wearing down
                        wearing out
Fear not the brokeness
              the inevitable brokeness
That we find in our communal limitations
Fear not.
Have courage.
Be brave and face it.
Look closely and you'll see.
The cracks
The brokeness
          Create space
And that is where the Light comes in.
